Action Movies - Ten Evergreen Ones

Action Movies - Ten Evergreen Ones

Movies are perhaps the best means of entertainment! Especially, the young generation is very fond of exciting movies and thrillers which are full of sensational moments. The incidents narrated or the scenes shown in these movies are things which most of us might have never seen in real life. For people who are fascinated with adventures, action movies can help them to have a pictorial view of terrible incidents, speedy races, dreadful explosions and horrendous wars. The sequences in the action movies are usually quite captivating, as they keep the viewers completely immersed in the course of actions. World's popular film hub, Hollywood has presented some of the most brilliant action movies, which are still very popular. Of all action movies produced till now, some of the evergreen ones which have become legends include "Lawrence of Arabia," "Apocalypse Now," "Paths of Glory," "The Bridge on the River Kwai," "All Quiet on the Western Front," "Platoon," "Saving Private Ryan," "Kill Bill, " "Star Wars Trilogy," and "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy".All this ten action movies are widely accepted by the audience till today. Films like the "Lawrence of Arabia," by reputed film maker David Leans pictures the adventurous story of an Englishman who inspired the Arabs to fight the Turks during the World War I. " Apocalypse now" is another horrendous movie which clearly pictures the chaotic situation at the time of war. The film is based on noted novelist Joseph Conrad's bestseller, " The Heart of Darkness". He magnificently depicts the story of an army captain who has been ordered to be killed in the Cambodian Jungles, because he is thought to be mad by the US military officials.Among famous action movies Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings," trilogy is a superb creation. It marvelously depicts an imaginary world. From a moral perspective too, the movie is worth seeing as it is about the fight between the good and the bad. The Star Wars Trilogy is another of the incredible action movies which was widely acclaimed by the audience. A different movie altogether. Since these movies are full of incitement, may be that is why they are so incredible.Jacob Marshal, a dedicated writer of Rupizcompare.co.uk which provide Info on Action Movies and Lawrence of ArabiaArticle Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jacob_Marshal

It tells the story of 300 valiant Spartans who fight a ferocious battle against an insanely larger Persian army. They lose, of course, but they lose in a very impressive and heroic fashion, thus inspiring the rest of Greece to unite against the Persian menace. It's a grand story, and Frank Miller's fanciful retelling is well worth your time. Director Zack Snyder and the good folks at Warner Bros. had originally announced a March 16, 2007 release date for the film, which has been under production for some time now. Unfortunately, they have now backed down on said date, and 300 has been downgraded to a TBA 2007 release. You can hold out hope for it getting bumped up a week or two, but typically this means the film is movin' on back. Let's hope it is worth the wait. 1 Comments Tags: 300 , cinema , cinematical , comic book movies , ComicBookMovies , film , frank miller , FrankMiller Source Permalink Print this Email this Share Related Headlines The '300' Prequel / Sequel That Won't Just Go Away (19 days ago - 3 Comments) Talking 'Spirit' Posters! A Quick Guide To Operating Small (S) Corporations

A Quick Guide To Operating Small (S) Corporations

Owning and operating a small business can be a very rewarding experience, emotionally as well as financially. Or it can be an absolute nightmare if you don't structure and operate your business properly.Never underestimate the resources of a good lawyer and accountant. They can help you avoid problems and even get you out of trouble you may stumble into. The law considers your corporate a separate entity. It has a birthdate (the date of incorporation), and can have a death date (the date you close the corporation). It can enter into contracts and agreements and has the same responsibilities as you would. As a separate entity, your corporation can protect you from lawsuits and asset seizures arising from the operation of the corporation (as long as you are not personally negligent or irresponsible). Many people see this protection as the main reason for forming a corporation vs. operating as a sole proprietor without any protection. But in order to be considered a separate entity, you have to run your corporation according to some rule, laws and guidelines. The following information touches on two aspects of operating your corporation as a separate entity: Corporate Accounting and Corporate Minutes.Corporate AccountingYour corporation should have its own bank account and Employer Identification Number (EIN) issued by the IRS. This helps to establish the corporation as an entity, separate from its stockholders and officers.Accounting records should be kept to record income, expenses, assets (equipment, real estate, intellectual property, etc.) and liabilities (debts, loans, mortgages, etc.). It is recommended that you retain an accountant to help with the accounting functions, year-end taxes and payroll taxes.Your accounting system can be as simple as a set of spread sheets (on paper or a computer). Or you can purchase accounting software such as QuickBooks, Peachtree, MYOB, etc. You may want to have your accountant help you set up the computer software so that you have all the accounts you will need. Also your accountant can help you learn how to enter different transactions. (Don't ask them during March, April or October - IRS tax deadlines.)Or consult with your accountant and develop a plan for recording your business activities and turning the information over to your accountant to be put into a computerized system either monthly or quarterly. This costs more for the accountant's services but can save you a lot of time and headaches (and money) if you get in trouble with the IRS or your state/city taxing agencies.Corporate MinutesIncorporated businesses are required to keep minutes of the activities of the business. Minutes are the voice and history of the corporate entity and can be used in court cases. Minutes also show that the officers/stockholders of the corporation are operating the corporation as an entity and not just an extension of themselves. Officers and shareholders can lose the protection of the corporate entity if they do not operate the corporation as a corporation; this includes keeping accurate minutes. These minutes can be as simple as a dated note written on a piece of paper and inserted into a three ring binder. Corporate minutes don't have to be on fancy paper or letterhead and don't have to use any special language style (legalese, corporatese, etc.). Corporate minutes should be clear and understandable. It is recommended that the corporate minutes be typed, include a date, names of participants and signatures of participants or corporate officers.Things to include in the minutes: Authorization to open a bank or credit account. Major purchases of equipment, assets, other businesses. Summary of marketing or advertising campaigns. Summary of business growth initiatives, projections and goals. Business plan, mission statement, corporate objectives, etc. Quarterly and yearly financial records. Major stock sales, purchases or transfers (almost every stock activity in a small business will be "major"). List of stockholders, names, addresses, number of shares and percentage of total shares issued (update once a quarter with quarterly financials if any changes). Hiring, firing of corporate officers or contractors. Notes of board meetings and stockholders meetings (at least one official meeting with minutes should be held each year). Any other significant business events. ConclusionThere are few things more satisfying than building a business from scratch. There are few things more trying than fighting personal lawsuits and the IRS. Operating your corporation properly will allow you to focus on running your business rather than defending it or yourself. It takes an extra investment of time and money, but just consider it additional insurance, both financial and for your peace of mind. ***************************************************************

What was the end of Sparta? more User Comments     (Comment on this title) 695 out of 966 people found the following comment useful:- A two-sided piece of art , 31 March 2007 Author: gus495 from Netherlands This film isn't for all people. That's to say about a lot of movies in general of course, but this one in particular brings up a big clashing point between critics; What do we want to see in our movies? What is more important, to portray a fictional setting for the sake of giving people a mind blowing visual experience or to amuse and amaze them with clever plot twists and intelligent dialogs? First lets analyze what exactly this film is made of. Basically, the whole thing is just one epic fighting scene after another. Most noticeably is the camera work and the visual effects. Every shot seems like it was intended to be a work of art. The colors, the characters, the costumes, the backgrounds... every little detail has been given so much attention. During the big fights you'll also instantly notice the unique editing. There are a lot of "time slowdowns" throughout the battles which show what exactly is happening. Fatal wounds that slowly leak blood spatters in the air, decapitated heads traveling in slow-motion across the screen... it's all there. The story on the other hand isn't very complicated, in the sense that the whole movie could probably be described in a sentence or two. The dialogs are simple and most often talk about moral values like freedom and honor. If you would look at the script, it would probably look like another movie that has nothing more to offer then idealistic visions of how life should be. Reviewers of this title seem to be split up in two groups. They either love it with passion calling it an epic movie of the 21th century, or hate it even more and throw it off like a piece of garbage consisting of mindless action and silly cliché phrases. I feel reluctant to take a position in this argument. Normally it's tolerable to weigh out both sides of this matter to result in a fair judgment about a movie. Not in this one. On the one hand the visual are surely among the best to be witnessed in a movie. Every detail, every background, every special effect set to the scenes are so mindblowingly stunning. On the other hand the plot and dialogs are of the most simplistic and quite frankly dumb kind. "I fight for freedom! I'd rather die in honor then live in shame!" Sounds familiar? Of course it could be debated that this movie was never intended in the first place to have a unique plot that makes your head spin. But from an objective point of view it's still lacking in this department, so it should be noted. Now that's fine and all, but does that all make of the film? Is it worth watching or what? I think it is. For me the good outweighs the bad by miles. From the second the movie started it grabbed me and didn't let go. Every battle, every scene of the movie had me at the tip of my chair. Everything from the strong acting to the wondrous visuals to the war-shouts of the soldiers was just so stunning... it was truly a wonderful experience. I did not one single moment felt like the movie lacked anything. But I could imagine why other people did. So here's the deal. If you are easily impressed by beautiful landscapes, wonderful camera-work and editing and powerful acting then go see this. Right. Now. You'll be missing out if you don't. There is so much to see, so much power in the way this comic is translated to the big screen... It'll leave you in awe. However, you are looking for a good story, clever plot twists, some innovating to the world of the movies then skip this. 300 contains nothing of this, nor does it wants to give you this. I enjoyed this movie so much, but I know there will be people that will pass of as rubbish, and that's understandable. Just be sure to make up your mind about what you want to see when you go to the theater yourself instead of being drawn into bias by the tons of reviews this site has to offer.
